Dedicated Boring team embedded in Millicom's modernization program: Frontend, Backend, QA and DevOps working on the migration of the Tigo Money wallet to the new MiTigo super-app, with talent distributed between Bolivia and Argentina.
Tigo / Millicom is one of the largest telecommunications and mobile financial services operators in Latin America. As part of its regional strategy, Millicom drove the migration of Tigo Money — its mobile wallet with millions of active users — to MiTigo, a new super-app that unifies telecommunications and financial services under a single user experience. Boring participated as a Staff Augmentation partner: we brought in a dedicated, multidisciplinary team of Frontend developers, Backend developers, QA Engineers and DevOps, which integrated directly with Tigo's product and engineering squads, operating in LatAm time zone from Bolivia and Argentina. The scope covered development of new features, refactoring of critical wallet modules, test automation, hardening of CI/CD pipelines and support for the coexistence of both products during the transition. By confidentiality agreement with the client, we do not publish product screenshots, internal metrics or team members' names.
Migrating a financial wallet with a massive base of active users (Tigo Money) to a new super-app (MiTigo) without degrading the experience or transactional reliability, while both products coexist during the transition. Tigo needed senior talent capable of ramping up fast, operating with their internal processes and adding execution capacity to their product squads without friction, across disciplines as diverse as Frontend, Backend, QA and DevOps.
Boring provided Tigo / Millicom with a dedicated, multidisciplinary team under a Staff Augmentation model: Frontend Developers, Backend Developers, QA Engineers and DevOps working on the client's stack, processes and ceremonies. The team operates as an integrated squad — participates in planning, internal code reviews and quality rituals — and takes end-to-end ownership of the modules assigned within the Tigo Money → MiTigo migration program, with the flexibility to scale talent according to roadmap demand.
